Cicily Bridal at Thorpe Garden
It’s time to show off our beautiful space we have created at our new home next to the fabulous new wedding venue Thorpe Garden.
What an incredible, emotional roller coaster of a month it’s been. From the sadness of closing our doors on our Ashby de la Zouch boutique where Cicily Bridal had lived for 6 years, to the chaos of moving and then the excitement and hard work of creating our new bridal studio at Thorpe Estate, near Tamworth, Staffordshire.
This is Cicily Bridal’s third home and each time we have moved we have created spaces that reflect our bride and what she expects from her experience when choosing her wedding dress. We feel very strongly that our wedding dress collections need to hang in a space that understands them and the bride who is going to choose to wear them on her wedding day.
Our wedding dress collections are for the free-spirited bride, the boho princess, the unapologetic indie bride, the rock ‘n’ roll bride who only dances to her own rhythm and the vintage cool bride who knows what she wants and always gets it.
When we first saw our new home it was a dark office space, complete with cold, utilitarian strip lighting, blue carpet tiles and the obligatory magnolia walls but Lisa and I could see straight away the potential. All we had to do was move a huge wall, lay a new 94m², paint the whole space white and then turn it into a bridal shop. To some this might have seemed challenging but not to Lisa, me and our husbands! We just thought – “HELL YEAH”!
We have designed a bright, calm and modern space that feels more like a studio than a bridal boutique. Our wedding dress collections take centre stage and everywhere you look there is an Instagram moment waiting to be captured. Your “found my dress” moment can be pictured against our Good Vibes flower wall to be tagged and shared on your gram.
The Thorpe Garden wedding venue is a minute walk from our studio across the estate. The bride who wants to get married in a yurt in a walled garden is exactly the type of bride who loves the Cicily Bridal wedding dress collections. She is cool, contemporary mixed with a bit of whimsy and full of feminine romance.
I recently showed my sister our new home when she was visiting from Wales. She just couldn’t get over what a beautifully calm place it is to be in. Thorpe Estate is in a semi-rural location just outside Tamworth and only 10 minutes from our old home in Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire. There isn’t a busy, noisy high street in sight! Just green fields, birds singing, the occasional moo of a cow and plenty of free parking! What could be more perfect!
