A glass of prosecco or two, good music and comfy chairs to snuggle into are always the perfect combination for Lisa and I to start to talk about the passion in both of our lives. No, not David Beckham (that’s after 3 or 4 glasses!), our beautiful Cicily Bridal.
We are always amazed by how far we have come in the last five years, starting small in Tamworth, Staffordshire in 2011 and now in a much larger store on the high street of the little jewel of a town that is Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire.
We have created one of the must-go-to bridal boutiques in the Midlands because we wanted to create somewhere where brides, like us, are inspired by fashion, modern styling and individuality.
When Cicily Bridal was just the tiniest idea keeping Lisa and I awake with our excitement, the one thing we knew was that the brand needed to be full of optimism, beauty and innovation. From our very first, and we have to say very nervous first appointment to the many fabulous appointments we have now, we know we have the ability to understand what today’s bride desires and expects.
Not so long ago we couldn’t have enough ‘vintage’ in our bridal lives from dresses to venue styling to stationery. 2014/ 2015 has seen a slow and gentle move away from all things vintage to a different look which has a more boho vibe, a mismatch style with bridal separates and a more retro attitude.
So drawing on the energy of our fabulous brides, the changes in bridal styling and fashion and of course, our love of growing and evolving Cicily Bridal, we had a little restyle this summer!
We started with the dresses…. Oh, the beautiful dresses! We knew we had to curate a collection that reflects the desires of our style conscious, free spirited and adventurous brides. So in May we went wedding dress shopping to London!
Now we, like probably the majority of the female population over the age of 8, love to shop! I think it’s fair to say that Lisa and I are very, very, very good at shopping!
And shop we did….we brought back two new stunning collections from Kate Halfpenny and Jesus Peiro, as well as adding some more fabulous designs from Charlie Brear, Naomi Neoh, Eliza Jane Howell and Augusta Jones.
They sit harmoniously alongside each other on our rails and represent the aspirations of our brides, deliver the future of bridal fashion but don’t forget the romance of getting married. An enviable list of labels!!
Delighted with our new and growing collections we turned our attention to our beautiful boutique. With the help of our good friends at Gloss Interiors in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, we had a little change in décor and layout to enhance and reflect our compelling labels’ distinctive style.
The all new Cicily Bridal!
I scoured e-bay to find the perfect mid-century chairs for our new consultation area. OK, they arrived from Hungary with American-tan shiny woodwork and red velour upholstery but we knew, with the talents of our friends at Gloss, they would be transformed into inviting, perfectly formed chairs to nestle into. I think the highlight of our shopping though, was when Lisa found the marquee-light hashtag! We knew we #hadtohaveit!!!
The result is a boutique whose environment resonates with our customers who love to shop at fashionable high street boutiques. A boutique that allows you time and space to browse and touch the beautiful collections from our very talented designers.
Our gorgeous consultation area provides the perfect spot where brides can take their time to discuss their wedding style ideas with the Cicily Bridal team. Surrounded by the collections of dresses and accessories from Marie Canning, Debbie Carlisle, Harriet Wilde and Rachel Simpson the bride can soak up inspiration and be excited!
The new and innovative displays in the show room lead into calm and inviting changing spaces, where brides can relax, escape the everyday and choose their bridal look with confidence. All adding up to what we believe to be an unimagined bridal retail experience.
To complete the restyle the Cicily Bridal website needed an overhaul. We set out to create a website that captures the spirit of Pinterest and Instagram and high street fashion that we all love and might be slightly addicted to! The clean lines and beautifully bold image-centric pages really allow brides to connect with our collections and with the Cicily Bridal brand.
We love it and we know our brides will too…..
With thanks to our friends Ten Foot Tall Photography who, with the promise of tea and cake, captured these beautiful images of the boutique for us.
