Wedding Venue Styling Ideas – The Little Wedding Warehouse
When I got married 14 years ago (What? Really? That long ago?!), wedding venue styling seemed to be the domain of couples who had bottomless budgets. You know, those weddings styled in London hotels such as the Mandarin Oriental or a castle in Scotland that had been in the family since Braveheart roamed the glenns.
In 2020, thank goodness, sourcing those ‘props’ to create your individual style for your wedding doesn’t have to bankrupt you and that’s thanks to wedding creatives like the super talented, super stylish and just blinking lovely The Little Wedding Warehouse.
Lisa and I have been stalking Roxanne and Ed, (the creators and owners of The Little Wedding Warehouse) on insta for a while. Their venue styling pieces are so what our Cicily brides want! Edgy yet romantic, soft but cool, trend driven but without losing that feeling of identity or individuality.
We were lucky enough to work with them recently and we have to say, we absolutely love them! Professional, dedicated, super creative and above all they care about their work! They travelled 200 miles to work with us without a single moan or groan about the journey!
So who better to ask for venue styling tips and trends and just general inspo than these gorgeous people.
“Three things we love incorporating into wedding styling – backdrops, textures & sustainability.
Backdrops
It’s no secret, we love a backdrop. No matter your venue, there is always room for a backdrop. Whether it’s for your ceremony, a photo area, a cocktail station or seating lounge, we’ll create one for it.
One of our most popular is our double triangle with crescent moon – made from reclaimed roof boards. It makes a striking ceremony arch!
Another favourite are our newly built art deco inspired screens. We launched these at a wedding show at the Turner Contemporary in Margate at the begining of the year & they went down a treat. Laura from Xyris Botanicals made this stunning vine which we trailed over the screens. They can be styled in so many different ways – florals, colours, greenery, lanterns, disco balls – or minimalist. Endless possibilities to make them unique to your wedding! “
One of my tips for tablescape styling is using different textures & adding different levels. Think macrame placemats, hand dyed linen runners & napkins, soft florals and ceramic crockery laid on a rustic wooden table. Using a mixture of different height candlesticks, candles and brass vessels or bud vases will create a gorgeous aesthetic for your dining tables. To build even more levels, having hanging installations, lanterns or lighting above your guests will elevate the atmosphere even more. Get creative – the sky is the limit!”

“Sustainability
Sustainability has always been one of our core values. The first pieces of furniture we built were our rustic round tables, made from recycled and reclaimed wood. This has shaped how we run our hire business – we build from reclaimed materials or we buy vintage – as much as we can. Hiring your furniture/props/decor from a hire company rather than buying them new means you can also try to be as sustainable as possible. There are so many other ways too – hiring crockery, cutlery, glassware & linens instead of using disposable, using dried flowers or locally grown flowers, use a wedding stationer who uses recycled paper, booking caterers who use local produce, the list goes on & we are here for it.”
